2016 Orange Drop is made with blended aged ripe Puer material and a fresh 2016 Xinhui Mandarin.
The tea is meant to be drunk with the orange and all. You can brew the entire orange, tea and all, without breaking it up. They are harvested when the fruit is extremely young and unripe, hence the small size and greenish hue. The early steeps are very astringent, so if you dislike the fresh green bite, toss out the first 2-3 steeps, and drink the next 12 or so.
Most of the cost of this tea is due to the high price of both the handmade labor and the prized skins of Xinhui Mandarins, which cost much more than most Puer tea by weight. If you are interested in better value for tea weight, check out our other Ripe Puer Teas
