Rock 4X4 is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
The name Rock 4X4 comes from this blend of rock oolongs, which contains 4 different yancha varietals (tieluohan, rougui, shuixian and qidan) with 4 roasts. This blend has enduring aromas and a burly bite from both the flame and the strength of the tea. This blend is for seekers of strong tea; heavy handed roast and heavy handed character. The depth and character of the aromas and flavors shift from steep to steep, making for an interesting gongfu experience. If you are looking for a smooth and elegant tea, take a rain check on the 4x4.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
Stone Milk is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
The name shiru literally translates as Stone Milk and is a lesser known variety of yancha [rock oolong]. We find the Stone Milk to be one of the best balances of value and quality in our yancha lineup. Stone Milk has a robust roast and a creamy fragrance and flavor. The body of the tea is thick and has a mineral character that plays well with the aromas of the tea. Definitely worth trying for both beginners and experienced yancha drinkers alike.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
Rougui is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
The name rougui literally translates as cinnamon, one of the most famous varieties of yancha [rock oolong]. From early May 2018, this tea had four roasts, but the flavors of the flame have receded by the time of its release to reveal the flavors and aromas of dark fruits and deep mineral character within the tea. Rather than give a play-by-play of the complexities that occur in this tea over the course of a gongfu session, we recommend trying this tea and experiencing it for yourself. One of our favorite yanchas.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
Our Dahongpao is a blend of oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
Originally used to describe the tea from a small group of bushes in Fujian, the name Dahongpao in a modern context is more commonly used to describe blends of yancha [rock oolong] instead of denoting a varietal or processing distinction. Our Dahongpao is a blend that relies heavily on the Meizhan varietal with traditional style processing that incorporates the roast, mineral nature and fragrances of typical yancha in a balanced way. Excellent as an introduction to quality yancha.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
The 2019 Milan Maocha is a bit of a misnomer, how can a tea be both maocha [loose tea] and a brick? In this case, the term maocha refers to the Dancong oolong tea being left in its raw form before pressing. We commissioned this production to be left with stems and large leaves for this pressing. The roast is medium-heavy, roasted for 24 hours with the highest temperature at 125 C. The heavier roast will evolve and calm in the coming years, despite having a slight bite at the time of pressing.
The brick is incredibly fragrant, with deeper honey and floral flavors emerging throughout the course of a session. This tea is still slightly punchy, but the tea has a complex interplay between the roast and the brighter aspects of a traditional Milan Dancong. Excellent endurance, this tea can be re-steeped for a very long time. Drink now or age as you please.
Each brick is 200 grams. Each tong is a bamboo leaf packed with two bricks.
Iron Arhat is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
The name tieluohan literally translates as Iron Arhat, one of the more famous varieties of yancha [rock oolong]. This is a medium-heavy three roast tea with deeper inner florality that rests beneath the cooling, minty character that lies under the fire. This tea has excellent endurance and can be re-steeped many times.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
Baisuixiang is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
The name baisuixiang translates as 100 year fragrance; it's understandable that this yancha [rock oolong] is very aromatic. The intense mid-range floral fragrances permeate the leaves and soup of the tea with the lighter roast flitting in the background.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
OBSX is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
Yancha [rock oolong] made from older bush material, this tea is often called laocong shuixian which literally translates as old bush narcissus; shuixian being the varietal of tea. Our old bush shuixian is a robust tea with deep aroma and character that evolves from steep to steep in a gongfu session.
Each purchase is for 25 grams of tea.
Spice Flower is an oolong tea from the Fujian province of China.
