What Is Snoozefest?
Snoozefest is a limited release raw Puer tea that we release every year for Black Friday for $15 per cake. We’ve never raised the price, despite nearly a decade of inflation, as the point of the tea is offering a really nice daily drinker that practically anybody can afford.
The history of the cake itself goes a bit deeper. Many years ago, a troll account on reddit r/tea was disparaging our good name by attacking us and declaring our teas a “snoozefest”. The account in question later came under scrutiny from being run by another tea company and has long since been deleted. In response to their comments, we decided to make lemons out of lemonade and release a cake that playfully addressed our marketing hype and rewarded our loyal fans with a discount. It started as a bit of a joke, but we’ve been doing it for about ten years now and don’t plan on stopping. Thanks, user u/tinklefor!
When Is Snoozefest 2026 Going to be Released?
White2tea releases Snoozefest for the Black Friday sale, which usually lands around Thanksgiving time or a bit earlier. It’s our busiest sale of the year, so we have been trying to begin the sale earlier and earlier each year in order to keep up with the demand. We appreciate your patience with all that, our small warehouse is always working overtime to keep up with the orders during Black Friday.
What Are People Saying About white2tea Snoozefest?
2025 Snoozefest:
"the cake was very easy to break whole leaves off of; it almost made me want to break the whole cake up for fun. I'm not the best at taste testing sheng, and this is the first time I've tried it, but it tastes like a very smooth, slightly vegetal sheng with 0 bitterness and a light astringency when steeped longer. A few steeps in, I tasted a little vanilla in the aftertaste, which was nice. I hope I taste it again next time I try it. This tea was easily worth $15 even if you don't drink much sheng. The no bitterness was very surprising to me, and it made me happier I bought 2 cakes."
2024 Snoozefest:
"I’m working my way through my first cake, and I think it’s great… Creamy, vegetal, low-medium bitterness. I get lots of citrus apricot/lemon after a few infusions. Energetic cha qi. It’s a great daily drinker imo. This is my first year trying it."
"It’s got softness, doesn’t get too bitter which is great for newcomers, decent flavor, dry leaf smells like strawberry jam. It’s always a good value in my book to be a daily drinker."
2023 Snoozefest:
"Pretty fruit-forward, some vegetal notes, moss and brown spices. The taste and mouthfeel is definitely its strong side. Slow-building intensity and a pronounced minerality/saltiness accompanied by a good amount of returning sweetness. Savoury and sweet, I enjoyed this alot. In my opinion a no-brainer at $ 15 (if you can get it)."
Does white2tea Run Any Other Limited Releases Like Snoozefest?
White2tea also has a cake called Peak Vulture that releases around late Feb or early March each year, before the first spring green teas arrive. It is another bang for your buck daily drinker, also $15 per cake, which we release as an affordable thank-you to everyone who follows what we do.
Other limited release yearly white2tea sales events include the Loot Bag of raw Puer 7g mini coins (usually in July) and the Shulloween Trick or Treat pound bag of 7g minis (around the last week of October).
