Nine Lives Yellow

Nine Lives Yellow is a yellow tea (also called huangcha in Mandarin Chinese) from Sichuan province.

Made from a purple bud varietal of tea that is usually processed into green tea, our Nine Lives Yellow was made with an extra step of huangmen that envelopes the tea and allows for a hot oxidation that yellows the tea to a golden hue.

The profile drinks with a smoother body than green tea and a sappy sweetness. The fragrances are bright and summery with a sticky quality that evokes malted grains and a slight touch of earth.
