Purple Silver (Limited Time Only)

We are offering a limited ten day order window for fresh 2025 spring green teas from Sichuan and Guizhou.

All of these teas are bud heavy, pre-Qingming (very early season) green tea pickings. Please note that orders made between now and March 31st will ship after March 31st, they will not be sent immediately. This year our Sichuan green teas are over a week behind last year, so orders may not ship until a week or so into April. We will ship the teas as soon as we can, but best to plan for patience. Many of these teas are in limited quantity, we will sell the amount we've reserved for each batch until we run out.

The purple silver from Sichuan is a hybrid style tea, somewhere between green and white, but closer to white tea. Carefully picked buds that are naturally tinged with purple on the plant, processed with a deft touch. The fragrance is an ethereal trip that transported me back to a time when I was first discovering what I loved about tea. The aromas and flavors are silky and entrancing.

With the awareness that this tea is really expensive - an aside: teas like this are usually grown in Sichuan and then sold to other tea producers in more famous regions like Fujian as the top tier of silver needle. To the average westerner, this price looks a bit rough, but it's actually far below what the tea could fetch when resold in China. An astonishing amount of fresh leaf is needed to produce a processed kilogram. The processing, from picking through to the final product also requires an amount of diligent care that is difficult to quantify. All made with entirely pre-qingming buds from a garden with a pristine environment. These teas rarely make it to the wider market, the entire production less than a few kilograms and not all of it ours.

All that is to say, this is one hell of a treat.
