This raw Puer brick is not for the faint of heart. Let's just get this out of the way; If you are afraid of bits of random debris, unsightly leaves, unverifiable information, and generally unattractive leaves, this tea is not for you.
If you haven't been scared off, this is an excellent tea with a lot of age and an incredibly reasonable price. At the time this brick was made, huangpian [larger leaves] were viewed as undesirable, hence the shabby treatment this brick received. The tea is sweet and smooth, with an aged touch of medicinal flavors and wood. This is a great tea to brew gongfu style for a smooth aged treat.
The wrapper says "Yiwu Zhengshan" [yiwu mountain], as well as 250g, neither of which are necessarily accurate. Each tea brick is roughly 200 grams of tea of unknown origin. The exact age is just an estimation. This is not a zhongcha official production. However, at this bargain price, the tea will quickly assure you that none of those mysteries are particularly relevant. The tea is great.

Raw Puer tea from Wuliang mountain, with the exact date of the tea being unknown. Our best guess is mid to late 2000's. The tea was in clean dry storage in South China, which has smoothed out the rough edges. The soup is sweet and easy to drink. It has a poppy, pleasant floral fragrance with a lasting sweetness in the mouth.
For around $50 for a 357g cake, this aged Puer is a great value.

The tea itself is excellent quality despite not being “real” Laobanzhang. Aggressive in the first few years, this tea can benefit from some resting before drinking.

2015 72Hours from White2tea.
Our highest quality and most complex blend from 2015. A tea worthy of aging, but a joy to drink for lovers of young raw Puer tea. The 72Hours blend is intensely sweet and has a variety of engaging characteristics. We recommend this as a tea for special occasions or focused brewing.
The material in this blend crosses many regions and mountains, but all of the material used is of excellent quality. We have been studying this blend of material for several years and after short term aging (~5 years) the soup becomes increasingly viscous and sweet, with an intense body feel.

A blend of raw Puer material from Yiwu region. When we first made this blend in 2014, we wrote "This tier of tea rarely sees the light of day in the open market," and we sincerely mean that. Not a blend we would recommend for beginners. The traits that make this tea special are often not apparent to most new Puer drinkers.
We will not be making this exact blend next year.
Each cake is 357 grams. The per gram price and cake price of this tea are identical to facilitate people buying less than a full cake with no mark up.

This 100 gram brick was uncovered in the depths of a puer warehouse, stacked tall, with no wrappers and nobody to claim it as a champion. When we first drank this tea, we knew we had found the bargain of our dreams. Plenty of body, but aged enough that it has a smooth and inviting character.
The White Whale can easily go toe-to-toe with similar factory productions from the 2002 era, but the whale weighs in at a fraction of the cost. Those in search of a smooth daily puer tea with over a decade of age that doesn't hurt the wallet need search no further.

The Old Bear brick is a smokey, heavy tea that is ideal for tea drinkers who enjoy flavors that are present in Scotch whisky, cigars, and pipe tobacco.
The Old Bear is a 100 gram brick that we found unpackaged in a warehouse. The tight compression of the traditional fangcha [square brick] style served it well, as most pieces are wholly intact. The characteristic smoke of the fangcha has faded slightly, but still carries a punch in the early steeps. The tea is a burly daily drinker for tea drinkers who want some oomph in their cup.
Note: We have run out of Old Bear boxes! However, we still have some Old Bear left. It's identical tea, but will be shipped in a sealed white2tea bag instead.

The Sister Brother set is a comparison sample set that illustrates the difference in processing styles that can exist between two different people, in this case a sister and brother.
The material in the bricks is identical Nannuo mountain material, but each brick was commissioned to be processed by only one person. The sister brick is material processed with a shorter kill green phase at a lower temperature, where as the brother brick is processed with a higher flame and fried for a longer time. These are their natural processing styles as people, I simply told them to process the tea as they normally would and to keep their respective materials separate for pressing.
This set is best used in a side by side comparison to see how the person processing a tea can influence the end results of identical material. It should shed light on how much variation can truly occur, not only within a "single origin" tea, but even within a family using identical material from a single tea garden.
Each set is 200 grams of raw Puer tea, comprised of two 100g bricks. Though this is an educational set, the tea is pretty damn nice - learning should be fun.

A tong of this tea is quite affordable to put away for the years to come.
