The 2019 Turtle Dove is a pressed white tea from Yunnan. Made from large leaf varietal material that is sun dried with no machine processing involved.
Our classic white tea has a thick body, soft mouthfeel, and a unique natural fragrance. Sweet and succulent with plenty of endurance for re-steeping. This tea is very forgiving with any type of brewing, including gongfu, western, or grandpa style. A perfect white tea to drink daily without much fuss.
This early spring 2019 white tea is made in a sun dried white style. The tea has minimal processing, picked and sun dried. This tea was processed from tea that is usually destined to be made as Dancong oolong, made from the Milan varietal from Guangdong province.
The Milan White is sweet and succulent. The large leaves take several steeps to ramp up, pouring out a bright spectrum of fragrances during a gongfu session. Quite a unique experience, as this varietal of tea is seldom produced as white tea.
Each purchase is for 25 grams.
Stored in dry/natural conditions in Fujian until pressing in 2018, this baicha [white tea] from Fuding county in Fujian province is considered to be Gongmei grade white tea, which has more buds and higher grade leaf than a Shoumei.
The thick body of this tea has a heavy sweetness and beautiful array of fragrances, with a slightly youthful crispness when pushed. This tea is very versatile and suitable for further aging or drinking directly.
Each cake is 360 grams.
This tea was produced in 2018 by hand roasting tea with a traditional technique of bamboo tea pressing.
The aromatics of the bamboo and the flame of the roast have mingled with the bright aromas of the fresh, bud heavy white tea to make a very unique experience. It has a complex interplay of fragrance, sweetness and smoothness.
This tea was roasted in the tips of the bamboo stalks, with 80 grams of tea per piece. Rather than break them up for a 25g sample, we will be selling them directly as a whole piece.
Each purchase is for 80 grams.
A blend of both white and black tea experiment gone horribly right, this is the latest incarnation of our sold out 2016 Hot Brandy. The soup is thick, smooth, and fragrant. It fairs well with both gongfu style and western style brewing. The tea has excellent endurance and can steep for a very long time and can even withstand being simmered or boiled without becoming acrid.
Both the white tea and black tea have been sun dried and should age well together. However, we are only two years deep on this experiment; though the results are promising, how it will age in the long term is anybody's guess.

Our goal when making the basics set was to offer an affordable crash course in white tea to anyone, anywhere.
The set contains eight different white teas; one of each of the following 7 gram single serving mini-cakes:
Our white tea basics set has a range of materials from three different provinces that spans several different grades of tea and years of production. The differences between region, processing, age, and varietals will offer new and experienced tea drinkers a wide range of experiences with white tea. Each mini cake is 7 grams, an ideal size for a single serving of gongfu tea.
The 2018 White Tripel is a blend of white tea that incorporates six different teas from three different provinces. The provinces of Fujian, Yunnan, and Guizhou are all present in the blend. The broad range of materials unite together to form a layered experience of smooth, fragrant sweetness. The Tripel has a complex floral base and creamy texture in the mouth. The flavors evolve from steep to steep as different materials contribute their character. We prefer this tea brewed gongfu style, but it also does well grandpa style or even simmered.
We hope you have the opportunity to try this unique blend of tea. Suitable for aging or immediate drinking.
Old arbor large leaf varietal tea that is usually destined to be made in raw Puer, picked and directly sun dried with no machine processing involved. We also have a black tea version of the same material.
Arbor white is deep and complex, thick tea with low tones and a subtle natural feel. This tea has a long development over the course of a session and can be a bit heavy. Not an ideal daily drinker, the Arbor white is better left for occasions where one can immerse themselves in this tea.
Stored in dry/natural conditions in Fujian from 2014-2018, this baicha [white tea] from Fuding county in Fujian province is considered to be Shoumei grade white tea.
A light, smooth tea with a soft body. This Shoumei has buoyant fragrances that range from clover honey to spices like cinnamon. This tea can be prepared a wide variety of ways with excellent results. Gongfu style brewing will yield a lighter colored soup and boiling will produce a thick red soup. Excellent value for a large cake of Shoumei with a touch of age.
This tea is very versatile and suitable for further aging or drinking directly.
A specially commissioned baimudan grade white tea from Guizhou province. We tried and fell in love with this tea in 2017, but were too late to buy any of the material. In the spring of 2018 we had our money in the producers hands before the buds were plucked.
Censers is an elegant white tea with a full bodied smoothness. The tea has a bright and complex fragrance that endures throughout a long session, lingering in the mouth and the cups long after the tea has gone. The fragrances and flavors shift between sweet floral aromas and fresh light fruits. One of our favorite white teas from 2018 spring.
