I didn’t have a plan to react to George Floyd’s murder online. I’m not one for corporate style lip service, but since I don’t have personal social media, this is the only platform I’ve got to express myself. Hopefully it will be taken as what it is; a sincere reaction.
This spring there is a production called “Good Man in a Storm” that i’d initially planned to sell for $35 per cake. It’s a 70 kilogram blend of Menghai spring raw Puer. We are selling it for $25 per cake because we know this year has been tough. In addition, this tea is a pure donation from white2tea. All of the proceeds (not profit, but all of the money that comes in from the sale of this cake) will be donated by us to a split group of roughly 80 charities* that are helping to aid in the current protests and fight against systemic racism in America. We hope to sell all 300 cakes for $25 each and donate $7,500 in total or roughly $100 per charity. If you’ve got the money to spare and want to drink good tea while helping contribute financially to the fight, here’s your chance.
We appreciate your support and we hope this contribution can aid in some small way in the fight against systemic racism in America. Black lives matter.
Update: The teas are sold and with your help we have reached our goal for donation. Thank you for everyone who helped lend support. If you are looking for other ways to get involved, sign petitions, donate your time and help amplify the voices. Here are some additional resources to help support black lives matter. Or if you can, you can still donate to the charities we donated to.
