We are once again accepting orders from the United States, but this comes with a very big caveat; the situation for tariffs is far from ideal and you should only order if you’re feeling patient and willing to accept potential tariffs. It appears that the de minimis (an exemption which previously excluded packages under $800 from being taxed) is no longer applicable to packages from China.
We will be trying our best to ship with methods that do not incur a tariff, where the tariff is paid up front, however we can not guarantee that packages will not be taxed. This is uncharted territory for us with rapidly shifting policies. If that uncertainty is an issue for you, we would like to reiterate that you should spare yourself the trouble and not order right now.
As we have advised previously during this debacle, please only order from us if you are comfortable with potential for taxes* and delays. This includes our tea club.
With all of that being said, we are resuming service sending packages to the USA and we will be trying our best to navigate this uncertain situation. As always, we will still make sure that you get your tea (or a refund in a worst-case scenario). We appreciate you sticking with us during this turbulent time and hopefully the situation will improve in the near future.
*Though we do love our American customers very much, we will not cover the taxes and tariffs for packages upon arrival in America, they are the sole responsibility of the customer if they are charged. This has always been our policy, but worth mentioning again for Americans as these are new taxes on foreign goods which the country did not have in the past. Please only order for amounts that you can comfortably afford paying taxes on. As the policies have been shifting frequently, and the current policy (which to be frank, is not 100% clear to even experienced trade lawyers) is only in place for 90 days, there is still a high degree of uncertainty with ordering. Exercising caution with save headaches for everyone.
